Arun Singh is unconventional; started as an RJ, is a dubbing artist and believe it or not, apart from an Anchor, he is the Encyclopaedia of HomeShop18:) You know him as a host of shows related to apparel, giving detailed insights about various products, but HomeShop18’s Father’s Day-Anchor Special series gets him to talk about his special bond with his dad and how the father-son relationship changed over the years. So here’s for you, Arun Singh down the memory lane.

Father's Day

When I look at my dad, the first thing that comes to my mind is that life is beautiful because of him! I’m a reflection of him and today, the person that I am is all because of his teachings and constant guidance.

There was a time when I used to be scared of his slightly up-toned heavy voice but now, he has become that friend with whom I can crack jokes, sing songs and share Hi-5s. He’s my buddy:)

Dad and I complement each other. I make the most of his experiences of being a bank manager and save and spend wisely whereas, I’m his go-to person for all questions related to new Bollywood stars, songs and singers.

I still remember that he was apprehensive on me entering this media industry. He never doubted me but like every parent, this industry is a tough one and he was rightly concerned. I chose to start my career with radio and when I won the RJ hunt contest of my city, Dad was the first person among the audience to stand up and hoot for me. I still remember the look that said go on…sky is the limit. And there has been no looking back since then. I cherish that moment and that look of his is an inspiration for me to give my best in everything I do.

He has appreciated and supported all the career choices that I made afterwards including my current stint with Homeshop18. My dad is really fond of watches and I would choose a Titan watch to gift him this Father’s Day.
