Happy Independence Day: Sakshi Trivedi

Imagine a day in your life, when you are not allowed to do as you will.
You don’t have the freedom of speech, expression, information or choice!
And to sum it all, you have to live under oppression, dejection and poverty.

The thought alone is claustrophobic, forget living it. However, the truth is that people of India did suffer and go through it all. It is only because of the will and perseverance of our freedom fighters that India woke up as a free nation with Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru delivering the historic speech ‘Tryst With Destiny’ on 15th Aug, 1947.

Life in India has indeed been beautiful since then. The freedom here is like none other. We have all the rights of a free nation. From the right to vote for our government, to the right to education and culture, to the right to equality.

The country has grown, reinvented and completely transformed itself in these 69 years. Today, it is counted as one of the fastest growing nations, has a software industry built from nowhere, the only nation to reach Mars on its first attempt, producer of the world’s largest number of movies annually, and much more. I can go on and on. Yes, I am proud to be an Indian. I hold my head high as I think of these achievements and a lot more.

Saare jahan se achcha

There is no nation like India, there are no people who live and love like Indians. We welcome all cultures, all people, all languages because we believe in being known as one nation than being known as 29 states and 7 union territories.

On this 69th Independence Day, let’s take a vow to put all the required efforts to take this country to new heights. Let’s add a new belief to our life “India First.”

With this, I wish all the people of this nation on behalf of the HomeShop18 family…A Very Happy Independence Day!!
